Near Casterton in Victoria’s Western District, Rod Davidson’s family have been farming for more than 90 years. The farm is now run by Rod’s wife Nicole, while Rod concentrates his talents on Steel Fabrication. Davidson Engineering (VIC) Pty Ltd provides repairs, build to order and design services to clients across western Victoria.

In 2017 Nicole and their teenage son Jimmy, were building a new fence. After a day of hammering in staples, they came in and exclaimed, “There has to be an easier way! Why can’t we screw something in with a TEK screw?”

Rod listened, and within an hour, Davo’s Fencing Clip TM was born.

The team at Davo’s aren’t staff. They are family, friends, and locals.

ROD

The Inventor

Rod has been building and inventing since he was old enough to swing a hammer. He began Davidson Engineering in 1990 in his grandfather’s little workshop. It wasn’t long before he needed a bit more floor space.

NICOLE

The Boss

Nicole joined Rod in 1994. With a farming background she was keen to make sure we kept an agricultural focus to the Engineering business and on their own small farm. She now breeds Dexter Cattle and markets Davo’s Fencing Clips.

BRIAN

The Engineer

Brian is a fitter and turner and has been with the team since 1999. He runs his families fine wool sheep farm just up the road in his spare time.

NICKY

The Bookkeeper

Nicky is the bookkeeper and has quickly taken on the task of dealing with customers. She and her husband also run a farm locally.

TYSON

The Apprentice

Tyson is the youngest member of the team. Able to turn his hand to most things he is kept busy in the engineering shop.
